Products that feel simple are usually not simple underneath. They have done the hard work of deciding what matters now, and what can wait.
Sequence over subtraction
Removing features is one way to simplify. A better way is often to sequence them — showing what a person needs at each step and nothing more.
Predictable structure
Consistency in placement, language and behaviour lets people build a mental model quickly. Once the model is stable, the product feels effortless.
Honest defaults
Good defaults remove decisions entirely. They should reflect what most people want, not what is most convenient for the business.
